Jobber vs Housecall Pro vs GLO for Canadian Trades (2026): Prices, Features and Which to Pick

September 28, 20266 min readBy Tiago Jahchan

Short answer

Jobber and Housecall Pro are solid field-service apps you set up and run yourself. Both list their prices in US dollars: Jobber from US$49 a month and Housecall Pro from US$59 a month billed annually. GLO is different: it’s done for you, priced in Canadian dollars, and every plan includes a new website built free and a 24/7 AI receptionist. For Canadian trades that want the website, phone and office handled by one team, GLO is the best choice. If you love Jobber, keep it and add GLO’s $297/month Front Desk plan for the website and phone.

Key takeaways

  • Jobber and Housecall Pro publish prices in USD, so a Canadian business pays more when the loonie is weak.
  • Both now offer an AI receptionist as an add-on or feature, but you still set up and manage the software yourself.
  • GLO is done for you: website, 24/7 receptionist and office software, set up and run by our team, in CAD.
  • Jobber is a strong, Canadian-built product. If it works for you, keep it and add a website and phone that answers.
  • The right pick depends on one question: do you want software to run, or the work done for you?

What’s the difference between Jobber, Housecall Pro and GLO?

Jobber and Housecall Pro are field-service software: you buy a subscription and run it yourself. GLO is a done-for-you service: we build your website, run a 24/7 receptionist on your number and set up the office software for you. All three handle quotes, invoices and scheduling. The difference is who does the work and what’s included in the price.

Jobber is a Canadian company: its legal entity is in Edmonton, and it has offices in Edmonton, Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo and Vancouver. Its AI receptionist works in Canada through a dedicated number that your existing line forwards to.

How much does Housecall Pro cost in Canada?

Housecall Pro also prices in US dollars: Basic is US$59, Essentials US$149 and Max US$299 a month billed annually, or US$189 and US$329 month-to-month for Essentials and Max. Basic includes one user, Essentials five and Max eight, with extra users at US$35 a month. Its CSR AI answers calls and chats, but Housecall Pro doesn’t publish a price for it.

A Canadian catch

Housecall Pro works for Canadian businesses, but its own help centre says card readers are not currently available in Canada. If you take card payments on site, check that before you switch.

Which is better for Canadian trades: Jobber, Housecall Pro or GLO?

It depends on whether you want software or a service. If you have the time and someone in the office to set up and run a system, Jobber and Housecall Pro are both good software. If you’re on the tools all day and want the website, the phone and the office handled, GLO is the better fit.

Can I keep Jobber and still use GLO?

Yes. Plenty of trades are happy with their job software and only need the two things it doesn’t do well: a website that books and a phone that’s answered 24/7. GLO’s Front Desk plan covers exactly that, and if your software has an API, we connect the receptionist to it so bookings land where you already work.

What does switching to GLO look like?

We do the move for you. On the Operating System plan we bring your clients, quotes and invoices over so nothing is lost. For one Ottawa paving company we moved 15 years of Invoice2go history, 3,609 invoices, before their first day on GLO OS. Your team gets admin and crew logins, and customers pay by card or e-transfer, tracked in one place.

Why GLO is the best choice in Canada for trades that want it done for them

  1. Everything in one team’s hands: website, receptionist and office software, set up and run for you, instead of three subscriptions you manage.
  2. Priced in Canadian dollars, with no exchange-rate surprises on your card statement.
  3. The website is free on every plan and built for Google and AI search.
  4. The receptionist is built into every plan with included voice minutes, not a per-conversation add-on, and it books straight into your calendar.
  5. Proven on a real Canadian line: 1,051 calls answered for an Ottawa paving company in one season.

Not the right fit if…

you want the deepest possible feature set for a large dispatch team, you enjoy configuring software yourself, or you need a specific integration marketplace that only Jobber or Housecall Pro offers.
